Often words are inaccessible to our expression of pain, thought and feelings. Art materials such as paint, clay, collage and installations can help us find form and shape. The use of play and imagination can assist the safe exploration of a range of emotions or experiences. We can begin to describe what we have created helping us to move towards meaning making. The Art Therapist companions the art maker often along less known paths to discover new pathways to healing. The relationship between therapist, art maker and art becomes a space where new meanings and connections can occur.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Boon Wurrung land and waterways where this practice is privileged to be situated on. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
